Assessment and careful management of earwax build-up causing discomfort or reduced hearing.

Service overview
Earwax Assessment & Management
Earwax is a natural substance that usually clears on its own, but sometimes it builds up and causes a feeling of fullness, reduced hearing or discomfort. We assess whether wax is contributing to your symptoms and, where appropriate, offer careful management to help your ears feel comfortable again.
Common concerns
When to consider this service
These are common reasons people seek this service. They are not a diagnosis — please arrange a consultation for personal advice.
- A feeling of fullness or blockage in the ear
- Reduced or muffled hearing
- Ear discomfort or itchiness
- A sensation of water trapped in the ear after washing or swimming
- Ringing in the ear associated with wax build-up
What to expect
Your consultation
Your specialist will examine your ear with an otoscope to confirm whether wax is present and whether it is causing your symptoms. If removal is appropriate, this is done gently and with clear explanation. We will also advise on safe ear care to help reduce future build-up.
